Umrah can be undertaken at any time of the year except during the Hajj season.
Between the 8th and 12th days of the Islamic Lunar Month called “Dhul - Hijjah"
The Hajj is one of the 5 pillars of Islam and it is compulsory for Muslims who are able-bodied and have the financial means whereas Umrah is highly recommended, although not compulsory for Muslims.
Only Muslims are allowed to enter the city of Mecca. Hence, the Hajj & Umrah pilgrimages are exclusively for people of the Islamic faith.
An Umrah that is accepted by Allah will result in the expiation of sins InshaAllah.
A Hajj that is accepted by Allah will result in the individual’s sins being extinguished and the person would be elevated to the level of purity, just like a newborn baby that carries no sins InshaAllah.
The Umrah is not compulsory but highly recommended while the Hajj is only compulsory for Muslims who are able-bodied and have the financial means.
That is a bonus from Allah. However, Umrah is not compulsory even if one can afford it but Hajj is.
